2010 SNORE Rage at the River In Car with Woolworth Motorsports, Robby Woolworth and Kevin...

Yes I know what you are saying, how can you have a Henderson Race in Jean NV? Well many were scratching their heads about this. As it turns out BITD owner Casey Folks could only secure a small portion of land in the Eldorado Valley and felt it would not make for a challenging enough race, so he headed to Jean for a little something different. What would have been a 12 mile loop race in Henderson turned into a 60 mile circuit that used a lot of BLM approved Primm race course with a few changes never seen before.

The Trick Trucks and Class 1500 cars race started in the afternoon so the slower cars and trucks could race in the morning.

The afternoon race started with pole sitter Sam Berri, then Chuck Hovey, Andy McMillin and Jesse Jones. Berri held the lead for most of the race until McMillin made his move passing Berri and holding onto the win overall and the Trick Truck class. This also gave McMillin the class win for 2009. His time was 3:51:03.

Jesse Jones took second overall and second in Trick Truck with his #76 Trick Truck by Geiser Brothers with an overall time of 3:54:11

Sam Berri finished 3rd overall and took the class win for the day in 1500 class with his #1549 car with a time of 3:55:03

Will Staats in the #42 Mastercraft sponsored Trick Truck took 4th overall and 3rd in class with a time of 4:09:52.

Rounding out the top 5 was Kory Halopoff in the #1570 Class 1500 car with a time of 4:09:52 just seconds away from 4th place.

Taking first in Class 7200 and an impressive 19th overall was the #7276 truck driven by Jason Ruane with a time of 4:44:32.

First in Class 1200 and 20th overall was the #1220 car of Ryan Staats with a time of 4:45:09.

Top in Class 1000 with a time of just 4:46:44 was Cory Keysar in his #1020 car. His time was good for 21st overall.

Class 8000 winner Macrae Glass driving his 8025 truck with a time of 4:48:39 and overall taking 23rd place.

A special mention goes out to Shannon Campbell who placed 12th in Class 1500 (22nd overall) with his rock racer #1554. I guess special consideration was made to allow him to race with the 1500s, and he sure made a presence. Equipped with an A-Arm front suspension gave him the ability to keep up and do very well in the race.

Other Highlights of the Race

The morning race had Jake Jones sitting on the pole but because of mechanical problems he missed the start and Lee Banning Jr. was first off the line. Banning left the line on that cold morning (when I say cold I mean cold. I had 3 coats on.) at 7am and the clear air paid off as he took the win overall and in Class 1100 with a time of just 4:51:16.

Sigal Greenberg took 2nd overall and 2nd in class with a time of 4:51:34 in her #1101 car. 18 seconds was all that split 1st and 2nd place.

Greg Foutz again took home the win in Class 8100 and overall placed 8th for the day in his #8111 Ford Super Duty with a time of 5:21:00.

I would like to mention the team of Jake and Josh Jones for giving me the devil horns as they passed. They took 4tf overall and in class with their time of 4:53:36

Class 5000 winner Eric Anderson in his #5012 had a time of 5:53:38.

Here are some more highlights of the 3-Lap race.

Of the 3-lap classes in the morning Louis Chamberland took the win overall and the win in TrophyLite Class 6000 with his time of 3:55:47. Vance Smith in the 6011 TrophyLite took 2nd overall and in class with a time of 3:56:00. Third overall and in class was the #6017 TrophyLite driven by Gary Messer with a time of 3:57:18.

Taking 1st in JeepSpeed class 1700 and 8th overall was the #1714 driven by Ray Griffith.

Class 7100 winner in his 7104 truck was Blake Henn with a time of 4:46:39.

Class 4100 winner in the 4112 SUV was Ralph Keyes with a time of 4:54:52. This was good for 14th overall.

The # 7384 truck of Kellon Walch took home the win in Class 7300 with his time of 5:07:50.

Taking home the win in Class 3700 was the #3747 Jeep of Chase Rather with a time of 5:26:13.

Jesse Herling took the win in Class 3100 with the #3104 Ford and a time of 5:41:08.

This was the last race of the 2009 season and once again Best in the Desert jumped through hoops to provide these racers with the best racing series in the US. You'll see in our coverage of the 2010 Parker 425, that 2010 should be even better.
