Round 3 of five-race 2011 SCORE Desert Series to be held June 2-5 in Ensenada, Mexico

    LOS ANGELES—Rising Southern Nevada desert racing star Bryce Menzies along with Dan Martin, Shane Esposito and Roberto Ruiz all drew pole positions in their respective pisions during Saturday’s computerized drawing for starting positions in the upcoming 43rd Annual Tecate SCORE Baja 500 desert race. The draw was held at the SCORE headquarters in Los Angeles.

The Snore, Mint 400 takes place in some of the most evil desert terrain imaginable. The Mint course is comprised of rocks, big rocks, little rocks, sharp rocks and deeply embedded rocks that seem to be cast in concrete. The only relief from the constant pounding is a few sandy stretches and the deep pockets of blinding silt... with rocks. Everyone knows going in, it's going to hurt. Car control is a major factor in surviving to the end. The terrain demands effective shock damping, precise steering and controlled braking in order to hold your lines through the rocks at speed. Overall winner BJ Baldwin credits the time spent tuning his shocks for his hard fought victory. "The course was really rough as usual," said BJ "I couldn't have done it without Iribe's help tuning the shocks, the truck worked better than it ever has. We knew we had to run a smart pace and save the driveline but be fast enough to win. I battled with Roger Norman for the first three laps but we eventually pulled ahead for good to take the victory."   

Rob MacCachren Claims the Overall Win at the  MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250

Rob MacCachren has long held a reputation for being a talented driver, the kind of “hired gun” you add to the team to guarantee victory.  Yet despite over 175 event wins and 20 championships, his “hired gun” status also meant that he had never won a SCORE Trophy Truck race as the Driver of Record.  All that changed when MacCachren and co-driver, Cisco Bio, bested a field of 220 worthy competitors at the 2011 MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250 in the No. 20 SCORE Trophy Truck sponsored by Rockstar Energy Drink and MasterCraft Safety. “We have knocked on the door and come so close so many times; it is great to finally take home the victory for everyone who has worked so hard to make this program possible.  I didn't just want this win for myself and the sponsors, I wanted it for the team."
