The first thing you notice when you look at this Prerunner is that it is not your everyday run-of-the-mill Prerunner. This is a Dual-Sport buggy sometimes called a truggy.
No matter if you like to float over the dunes at Glamis or you are prerunning the Baja 1000, Full Potential Offroad’s car will get the job done.
I met the Guys of Full Potential at the Extreme Motorsports Expo in Costa Mesa, and it was a good thing I saw them at the end of the day or I might not have seen the rest of the show. Along with the vehicle you see here they also brought another version along with some custom Rhinos. The Dual-Sports definitely stole the show.
Any good prerunner needs a good amount of suspension travel. How is 23" in the front and 23" in the rear? You’ll see from the video it is plenty. This thing seems to float on any terrain it tackles.
Starting in the front FP uses boxed 4130 Upper and Lower arms with Pro Am TT spindles. To control the bounce FP uses Fox 2'' Dual Rate Front Coilover and Fox 3'' 3 Tube Bypass.
The rear is made up of Boxed 4130 Rear Trailing Arms, and uses Fox 2.5'' Dual Rate Rear Coilovers with Fox 4.3 Rear 6 Tube Bypass which gives you almost 2 feet of travel.
All suspension parts need a solid foundation to work properly, so FP made the frame from 1 3/4" Dom / Chromoly and 2" X 3" Rectangular for the Floor, all powder coated to ensure longevity.
To put this chassis to good use FP installed an LS7 motor pumping out 540 HP. FP also offers a sweet 8 into 1 exhaust system similar to the new Vettes. Getting all of this power to the ground is made possible by an Albin’s 5-speed trans-axle, connected to Series 30 CV's and Series 30 Hubs. The wheels and tires are Pro Am Racing wheels and 37’’BFG Projects. Their other model on display used paddles in the back with smoothies up front for all the Duners.
Another unique feature of this car is the fiberglass body with integrated HD headlights. It really makes this Dual-Sport stand out from the crowd. Inside you will find a fiberglass dash with a Full Length Center Console with Livorsi Gauges and a Lowrance GPS.
Bouncing around in the dunes or the desert you are going to want some place nice for your backside to sit in. Well FP uses PRP Custom Seats and Headrest with Front Adjustable Seat Sliders. Safety items include Dot Approved 5 Point Race Harnesses and a 10lb Halon System just in case.
