King Shocks Racers Dominate at SNORE, MINT 400King Shocks Racers Dominate at SNORE, MINT 400

The Snore, Mint 400 takes place in some of the most evil desert terrain imaginable. The Mint course is comprised of rocks, big rocks, little rocks, sharp rocks and deeply embedded rocks that seem to be cast in concrete. The only relief from the constant pounding is a few sandy stretches and the deep pockets of blinding silt... with rocks. Everyone knows going in, it's going to hurt. Car control is a major factor in surviving to the end. The terrain demands effective shock damping, precise steering and controlled braking in order to hold your lines through the rocks at speed. Overall winner BJ Baldwin credits the time spent tuning his shocks for his hard fought victory. "The course was really rough as usual," said BJ "I couldn't have done it without Iribe's help tuning the shocks, the truck worked better than it ever has. We knew we had to run a smart pace and save the driveline but be fast enough to win. I battled with Roger Norman for the first three laps but we eventually pulled ahead for good to take the victory."

Rob MacCachren Claims the Overall Win at the  MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250

Rob MacCachren has long held a reputation for being a talented driver, the kind of “hired gun” you add to the team to guarantee victory.  Yet despite over 175 event wins and 20 championships, his “hired gun” status also meant that he had never won a SCORE Trophy Truck race as the Driver of Record.  All that changed when MacCachren and co-driver, Cisco Bio, bested a field of 220 worthy competitors at the 2011 MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250 in the No. 20 SCORE Trophy Truck sponsored by Rockstar Energy Drink and MasterCraft Safety. “We have knocked on the door and come so close so many times; it is great to finally take home the victory for everyone who has worked so hard to make this program possible.  I didn't just want this win for myself and the sponsors, I wanted it for the team."

Shannon Campbell, Wins 2011 King of the HammersShannon Campbell, Wins 2011 King of the Hammers

Shannon Campbell becomes the only driver in KOH history to take the champion title more than once—he earned his first title in 2008.

Watsonville, CA (PRWEB) March 3, 2011 – FOX Racing Shox sponsored rock racer, Shannon Campbell, wins his second King of the Hammers, becoming the only driver to win the race more than once since its inception four years ago. Campbell charged through the treacherous Mojave Desert, overcoming obstacles that stopped other drivers dead in their tracks, to take the crown with an impressive 31-minute lead over the rest of the pack.

Official DVD of 2010 peninsula run with previously unreleased race footage available at www.bajaunlimited.com

NEW YORK, N.Y.—SCORE International and Aura360 have jointly announced the release of the official DVD of the 2010 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 desert race.  The special collection DVD, celebrating last November’s legendary granddaddy of all desert races, will go on sale beginning Thursday via the internet.  With almost 60 minutes of content (including race footage unseen in the NBC TV broadcast of the race) plus five additional bonus chapters, the colorful DVD will provide a comprehensive and memorable look at the 2010 race.

In a year when the course spanned the entire Baja peninsula for the 20th time in race history and dreams were made and broken across all 1061.69 miles, few teams would emerge unscathed as the 43rd annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 once again proved itself as one of the most grueling challenges in all of motorsports.

The coverage features the father and son team of Vildosola Racing as they attempt to rewrite history by becoming the first Mexican team to capture first ever overall and the SCORE Trophy-Truck victory. “Our official DVD of the 2010 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 is a superbly done keepsake that chronicles the challenges the adventure that is truly the greatest desert race in the world,” said Sal Fish, SCORE CEO/President. “Once again Aura360 has produced a memorable piece of history that every racer, crew and fan of the sport will enjoy time and time again reliving the excitement, drama, adventure and ultimate challenge and test of man and machine that are part of this legendary race.”

Last year’s epic battle, with 292 starters leaving the Ensenada starting line, competitors from 37 states and 19 countries battled the rugged terrain in cars, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs in 33 Pro and 7 Sportsman classes. Vehicles left the start line in 30-second intervals and all vehicles had 45 hours to become official finishers of the race.

The 292 official starters represented the third highest number in the 18 years it has finished in La Paz and it was the 11th highest total in the 43-year history of the race. The 192 official finishers represented the third-highest number in the 18 years it has finished in La Paz and it was the fifth-highest total in the entire 43-year history of the event.

The finishing percentage this year was an amazing 64.7 percent considering the extremely dusty, bone-crushingly rocky and sometimes foggy conditions and the unique ruggedness of the course. The official DVD of the 2010 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 is available at www.thebajaunlimited.com, where viewers can follow BajaUnlimited on Facebook to receive special news and promotions.
