Re:Long Travel Suspension Kit - Desert 4x4 Project - 2007/07/22 22:59 how much did woolworth charge to put the kit on if u dont mind? they dont have rates on their site. props on the "ranger hits the desert" cause i was wondering how the truck would handle with the stock rear. it would be awhile till i had the rear suspension done on my 02 ranger. the front torsion bar suspension is just junk in my book when it comes to rallying dirt roads and trails. also the rear of ur ranger looks a lot lower than stock, did u take out the overload spring or toss the blocks?

Re:Long Travel Suspension Kit - Desert 4x4 Project - 2007/07/23 09:11 Well I can't say how much because we worked out a deal since we redesigned his website for him. It is not completely done, but the new site is online.

Well the stock rear is just that. If I go too fast it jumps like a pogo stick. We are working on getting the funds together for the rear. This sport is expensive.

To give you a little insight, we are going to have a tech article in the next issue (Aug '07) on flaring the stock bedsides. I could not believe how well this worked. With 33's there was about 2" of tires sticking out of the bedsides. Now they tuck nicely even when the axle completely articulates.

As far as the height goes, nothing done to it yet. We do have the FOX front shocks cranked a little high. Once we do the rear I will be getting rid of the stock lift block and just get lifted Deavers.

Hey if you have some action shots and still shots of your '02 I would love to see it. We might even be able to get it in the magazine as a Feature.

Re:Long Travel Suspension Kit - Desert 4x4 Project - 2007/07/26 02:07 im looking foward to the next article about the bedsides. i would like to send some pix of my truck, but i have yet to get ne thing done to it special. my next plan it 15x8 wheels, then i will get the dixon kit. i would like to stay with 31x10.50s when i get the kit done, or would that be not so good? As of right now i just have a sweet one off aluminum front bumper, more bashing type than prerunner, that I plan on leaving on when i get the dixon kit done if i can. Other than that i just have torqed torsion bars, fipk 57 intake, magnaflow exhaust, and a system.
also did the dixon kit come with extended brake lines? or do u even need longer lines, i would think so. every buildup or explanation of the kit doesnt mention extended lines that i have noticed...
