The annual Dusty Times 250 here May 8-10 had a little of everything ranging from a heart-warming meet and greet at a local elementary school to non-stop action on a 60-mile course in an event that featured water, trees and something called "Oh My God Hill" that drops into the back side of this fascinating 100-year old town situated northeast of Las Vegas. |

Six a.m. was the start of the 2009 Terrible’s 250 where the slower classes ran 2 laps and later in the afternoon the faster classes ran 3 laps.

Short-Course Race Fans had it great for the season opener in Primm. Friday’s qualifying was brutally winding causing some of the racers to ease of the skinny pedal when hitting the table-top at the end of the track.

I am starting to think that there is some kind of magic over the land of Parker that plays host to the Best in the Desert Bluewater Resort & Casino Parker "425". With most of the land that racers tread on being Indian land, I wonder if the tribe does a little rain dance before the event?

The Henderson Fabtech Desert Classic race marks the end of a great season of racing for the Best in the Desert Racing Association. At the close of last year’s season there was a press release stating the Eldorado Valley was to be closed to Desert Racing. Well be it his charm or his business savvy Casey Folks managed to put this race on one more time, with a bit of a twist.

If you don’t think it’s better to start on the pole, ask Sam Berri. Having taken the first spot in the Time Trials Thursday prior to Saturday’s race, top qualifier Sam Berri piloted his Class 1500 unlimited buggy to the overall win at the inaugural Best In The Desert’s Bilek Racing Silver State “300” in the desert north of Mesquite, Nevada.

Roger Norman drove the last lap to victory after teammate Larry Roeseler had spotted him a 10-minute lead driving the first three of four laps in the No. 8 Norman Motorsports Ford F-150 race truck, capturing the overall and SCORE Trophy-Truck victory Saturday at the 13th Annual SCORE Terrible’s Primm 300 desert race.
