We showed up in Primm on Friday for the Pre-run or Pre-Fun Run as SNORE calls it. We heard the course was only a 13 mile lap so we decided to take a stab at it with our Project Desert RZR. We unloaded the RZR and got in line.

Even though Prerunners are not yet “mainstream”, there was quite a bit to see at this year’s SEMA Show.

I wish there was a place I could go and buy a prerunner because I don’t have the time to wait for one to be built. If this is something you say to yourself then you’re in luck.

The Extreme Motorsports Expo 2007 is the 5^th year for this great event. It is held at the Orange County Fair Grounds in Costa Mesa CA. Let me tell you if you like anything offroad this is a must see event. It offers everything for the offroad enthusiast like long travel sand cars, lifted golf carts, highly modified side x sides like Rhinos, prerunners and giant lifted trucks.

Just 2 weeks before the event we were offered a great deal on a 10x20 booth, and then scurried to get our stuff together. Originally we planned to simply cover the event, but the offer was too good to pass up, and I am glad we didn’t. We did find out that 10x20 with our Project Desert Ranger in it did not leave us much room. Next Expo we are going 20x20.

This is the very question I asked when I was looking to build a Prerunner. I had recently moved to a rural area, Pahrump, Nevada home of the Terrible’s Town 250. I wanted something that I could stomp the vast desert areas around my house as well as hit the dunes at Dumont. I thought about doing something different than the normal 2WD Prerunner because I wanted the best of both worlds. Along with flying through the dunes I wanted to be able to hit some of the mountain trails in the area.

Was it worth the work?…Hell Yes!!! After spending days at Woolworth Motorsports shooting pictures of the front end build I finally got the chance to hit the desert and see what this thing can do.
