Side x Side Features
While covering the Best in the Desert Las Vegas 300 at the beginning of October I met a soft-spoken guy with a southern accent. This struck me as strange considering Desert Racing is mostly a western thing. We spoke briefly as he went by to shoot some pics from further down the track.
As you might have read in the Prerunner Maniac Blog we made a 14 hour round trip to see the folks at RideNow Powersports Metro (Formerly Metro Motorsports) to pick up our newest project, Desert RZR. I am sure everyone has seen and heard about the new Polaris RZR. We even wrote an article about it, 2008 Polaris Ranger RZR. Well after months of waiting we finally got one of our own.
Every now and then a new product comes out tdat changes the norm for an industry. Recently we saw the Rhino pave the way for the UTV market. Taking a vehicle mostly used for hunting and farming to one of the largest segments of the off-road industry. Now it is time for another newbie to create its own segment of the off-road industry the Sports Terrain Vehicle.
While checking out some of the greatest the offroad industry has to offer at the Extreme Motorsports Expo 2007 my eye is caught by this retina burning flamed out custom Rhino. Now I am not talking about a normal flame job you would see on an old Merc, I mean realistic fire. After taking a closer look I met the Guys at Lion Cart, Terry Couch and Mark Broyles. Lion Cart specializes in accessories for the Yamaha Rhino, Polaris Ranger, and even the not yet released Polaris RZR. Based in Phoenix Lion Cart is a premier source for Side X Side aftermarket parts and accessories. They also build complete custom rides to their customer's specifications.
Only certain people in this world ever advance technology by such huge marks like the folks at Polaris have done with their introduction of their new Ranger RZR Side-by-Side UTV. This thing is so far beyond the normal Rhinos you see at the dunes and at off-road races. The Ranger RZR is in a class all by itself.
